When looking at a shared account..You can find some providers that will offer the ability to host multiple domains.
one that comes to mind is: hostgator.com they provide the ability to host multiple domains on one shared account.
Now a disadvantage to this is that all of your domains are “add on” domains. They redirect to sub domain folders, and aren’t as easy to move around etc.
Now a re-seller plan, allows you to setup your own shared accounts. Some as mentioned are unlimited, some are limited to a number of domains. They’re still on the same IP address, and potentially still on the same server as multiple shared hosting accounts that other people have but it gives you a lot more control over you websites (nameservers, etc….) Especially if you’re using any form of CMS (content management system). Another benefit of reseller hosting is its durability. You will have less problems when hosting a lot of domains.
I’d recommend getting a re-seller plan if you have more than 5 websites. A couple that come to mind to check out are.

It takes more time than paying for them but you can get on yahoo, google, and a whole lot more for free. you can sign up for their free email. The email contains sites that allow free submissions and how to meta tag your webpages so they search correctly.

Making a Pixel Website with a difference?

I’m thinking of setting up a pixel site thats different (quirky) for people to put their links on.
I was perhaps going to make it theme based like (http://www.bigbenpixels.co.uk/) and in the shape of a car for car advertisers or
the shape of a house for landlords and letting agencies. (this is just an idea)… or just make it similar to the million dollar page ,
I was also going to try to gain advertisers by saying a cash prize of say 50 to a 100 pounds will be won by one of them at the end of a year period.etc
I just wondered if you think this is an ok idea or will people just give it a widebirth and think “hmmm we’ve seen this before etc”
I was looking through these kinda site the other day and must admit I was nearly tempted to buy some pixels in hope of more exposure to my blogs and websites as they lack in traffic, the pixels were 5 to 10 dollars each witch I thought was a bit costly.
Im trying to think of something new and quirky and other reasons for a site like this is getting linkbacks from people when they advertise and thus making it viral.

The number one question going though thousands of minds – How to make money from home online? A very profitable and easy way is affiliate marketing, described below.
One of the best ways to make money from home online is Internet Marketing.
Because the Internet is enormous there are dozens of different ways to make money online.
Affiliate Marketing is one avenue within Internet Marketing.
Simply put affiliate marketing is advertising. Companies don’t want to hire a whole department for advertising. They would have to pay thousands of dollars or more for payroll, insurance, unemployment funds and so on. So instead they set up accounts with trusted affiliate programs.
There is a company called Clickbank, it is an affiliate program, and one of the largest.
Now Clickbank allows individuals to join as an affiliate, which by the way is free to join. From there you can choose over thousands of products to promote online. Once you have a product you then take a special link and post it pretty much anywhere on the Internet. By anywhere I’m referring to forums, chat rooms, blogs, emails, and your own websites. The list goes on and on.
Why do some affiliates use reseller web hosting instead of shared?
My question has to do with affiliate internet marketing. For years I’ve used one shared web hosting account and I create multiple add-on domains on it for all my various sites. I know it’s not a good idea to have all of your domains on one server because search engines can see they all come from the same IP address if you link the sites and if you’re server goes down, all of your sites are down. No site access = no money coming in.
I see that several of the top power affiliates get themselves a reseller hosting account so they can create individual websites rather than add-on domains, but they’re still all on the same IP address and if the server goes down, all the sites will be down.
Reseller hosting is considerably more expensive than shared hosting and I know you can offset the cost by selling accounts and domain names from it, but let’s say you don’t sell to other people.
So what’s the advantage of using reseller hosting instead of shared hosting for affiliate marketing?
Also, yesterday I was looking at some reseller hosting. I need to do some more research, but tell me if something like this is in the ballpark or too expensive. These are just the high level features, but bascially, anything you can do on a shared hosting account, you can do on this so I certainly wouldn’t be losing anything.

UPADTE: Thanks, Joe. You made a couple of points that escaped me. You’re right about moving domains, so much easier when not dealing with addons. Also, a reseller account would be more stable than shared. ResellerZoom was the one I was looking at. HostGator is more cost effective on a per GB basis, but it’s also overkill for what I need at this time.
bigbenpixels.co.uk was put up in October 2005 and up until now has sold less than 0.001% of the available pixels, so anything similar looks doomed to failure imo.

How To Promote My New Book (Amazon or Affiliate Program)?
I’m self-publishing my new book about to be published shortly through LightningSource. Here’s my dilemma as a self-published, self-marketing author:
1. Do I leave fulfillment to LightningSource/Amazon who will charge me 55% right off the top, leaving me with much smaller margins (the cost of the book will come from my share, the remaining 45%) and focus on just marketing the book? If I take this route, then I can’t do much for affiliates and Joint Venture partners, but reduces a lot of S&H overhead.
2. Do I do the fulfillment myself, selling the book for lower than Amazon, worrying about shipping and handling (especially international shipments, refunds, etc)? This approach will give help me pay decent amounts to affiliates, JV partners and bulk resellers, but increases my order- processing overhead.

The other problem with selling on Amazon is that Amazon will not share the buyer’s contact info with you (unless I’m wrong?).
So, I’m trying to figure out what’s the best way to market on Amazon, as well as on my web site – but the major problem of doing it on my web site is figuring out the shipping price for international buyers.
